Intimate wedding + couples photography for the laid back + candid couples

My relaxed approach to photography gives you permission to show up as yourself and make authentic memories with those who matter the most to you. Have a karaoke competition at your wedding. Dance the night away in bare feet. Do a keg stand. Do YOU and do it with every sense of your being.

I’m so glad you found your way here and I’m so stoked to get to know you a little better. First off, if you would like to find out a bit more about me please feel free!

Why work with me

why work with me?

inclusivity

EVERYBODY is welcome here.  There’s no judgement and I am completely accepting of all kinds of love and all kinds of humans. I will be your ally and in your corner, always.  I strive to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in this space.

Experience

I have been professionally photographing humans for 13 years now.  I started off as a hobbyist photographer after taking some photography classes at Camosun College in Victoria, BC.  I soon photographed a friend’s wedding and fell in love with it.  The chaos, the nerves, the adrenalin, the excitement, the happiness and even the pressure of it all.  And since then I’ve never looked back.  Photographing weddings makes you end up being a pretty well rounded photographer because you need to do a little of everything – portraits, candids, details, architecture, THE WORKS. Not to mention the quick thinking on your feet.  With regards to maternity photography and family photography I often have wedding client who transition into these new areas of life and call on me to document them (for which I am eternally grateful) so I have many years of experience documenting these exciting life events as well.

VIBES

I strive to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed in front of my camera – I understand you aren’t models!  I get to know all my couples BEFORE we start working together that I can understand who you truly are and what you want out of our time together.  During your engagement photos or wedding day, my vibe is both letting the both of you just BE and giving you prompts and directions to get those genuine smiles out of you and interact with each other in a way that is genuine to your relationship. My relaxed approach lets you show up as yourself and make authentic memories.

frequently asked questions

What types of weddings do you shoot?

I specialize in intimate weddings and elopements because these are the events that I connect the most with. I love being able to spend time with the wedding couple as well as their guests on the day of. I find that the more intimate the wedding and the more I can hang out with all of the guests, the better the photos I capture because I make a connection with everyone involved.  I use a guest count of approximately 50 and under as an intimate wedding distinction but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are having slightly more people than that attend – I will never say no to a client who I jive with just based on numbers!

How many hours of coverage do you provide on a wedding day?

My packages range from 1 hour to 4 hours.  With that being said if you think you need more time, I am happy to talk about it and make you a custom package.

how far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Think about the questions that a searcher might have when they go to Google and type in your main keyword. Then put together a section where you answer those questions. In some cases, your primary keyword may have a “people also ask” section on Google, and this can be a great source of inspiration for your FAQ section.

My latest wedding, elopement, maternity and family photography stories.

why i became a wedding photographer in Victoria, BC

What started out as me deciding I needed a hobby and taking some post secondary photography classes soon turned into a passion of mine.  I always felt like I had a creative side but it was a mystery to me what that could be (my drawings and paintings are so tragic it’s literally laughable).  So when I found I was actually really good at photography and my teachers were noticing, it lit me up.   So began the journey of my business and finding myself.

On a deeper level, photography is so important to me because I’ve lost some of the most significant people in my life.  Photos are truly the only thing I have left of them and I don’t think that until you experience a big loss that you can really appreciate how important pictures are.  These days I get emails and messages here and there about how a loved one had passed away and how grateful they are that I captured them at their wedding.  And truly this is why I do what I do.  This and the connection that I get to form with all my clients. I’ve been there to capture the happiest days of their lives and sometimes the some really sad ones too.  They are all beautiful and important and I am eternally grateful for the trust and vulnerability of every single person that’s stepped in front of my lens.
