Dave & Claire’s Oak Bay Beach Hotel Wedding // Victoria Wedding Photography

Claire wrote me a google review shortly after their wedding:

“My husband and I got married in Victoria, BC last June. Jade did our engagement and wedding photos and they were incredible! Jade was professional and personable. She made us feel comfortable and made the experience so much fun, not to mention our photos look fantastic. She had many amazing locations prepared and was receptive to our preferences. We received our photos more quickly than we hoped for, and her communication with us was always timely. I couldn’t recommend Jade more, I would even consider flying her somewhere if we needed photos in the future. Jade is amazing!”

What the ??! don’t normally share praise from clients but this one almost made me cry!  To have someone say they would actually consider flying you somewhere to take their photo? It’s the utmost compliment.  The funny part is I would actually pay to get on a plane to go hang out with Claire & Dave again because hot damn, we had SO MUCH FUN.  These two live in Denver, Colorado so everyone at the wedding was from somewhere else and many had never been to Victoria before. It was a blast meeting people and hearing about how much fun they were having in our amazing city.  It was certainly apparent in the number of people that traveled to be with them, that Claire and Dave are surrounded by an amazing group of people that love them very much.

Everyone got ready at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel (which I just love shooting at) and after the final touches, Claire and I went across the street to a quaint and secluded garden where her and Dave had their first look.  I’m pretty sure he liked what he saw – look at this girl!  Her dress was made for her and her smile was radiant all day long.  Next up was the most beautiful ceremony overlooking the ocean.  When Dave saw Claire walk down the isle he did his best to hold it together but it was apparent how thankful he was to be marrying his best friend.  One of the groomsmen said about the ceremony after that he actually wished it had lasted longer.  I can’t say I’ve ever heard anyone say this about a ceremony which is a testament to how meaningful it was.  Next myself, the bride & groom and wedding party headed to Cattle Point for some photos.  For June it was pretty chilly and the girls were troopers freezing their asses off in their dresses. Once we returned back to the hotel, the partay started.  Actually first there were a few heartfelt speeches accompanied by a few tears. And then laughs. And tears again.   Followed by more first dances, and tears. And laughs.  Such a good time.

Claire & Dave – you know how I feel about you because we email back and forth all the time!  Your wedding was the best, you guys are the best and that’s all I really have to say. You will have a lifetime of adventure and fun and love. And I just know that our paths will cross again.

Seriously HOW LONG WAS THIS POST?   I’m just going to stop it here because I could go on and on.  Here are just a few of my favorite frames from the day and if you prefer to watch a slideshow I compiled you can do that too!  If you missed their Victoria engagement session I’ve linked it here for you too.
