The big 0-1 // Life with a Baby
Well that sure flew by. My little Zaiya (aka Poops) is ONE. She’s had a full trip around the sun. And what a trip it’s been. Having a regular baby is a serious trip but I happen to think mine was born with a little bit of extra somethin. Maybe all parents think this, I dunno.
In some ways this year went by very slow (like at 5am when you’ve slept like 4 hours of broken sleep and your baby is up for the day)….but in most other ways it went by in the blink of an eye. Sometimes I just catch a glimpse of Z and realize how big she is or how far she’s come in such a short period of time. And holy personality. There is rarely a person that does not smile at her or talk to her when we go out. She has such charisma about her at such a young age that I have no doubt she is going to bring a lot of light to the world. If we go to a restaurant with her we overhear the wait staff talking about her when they think we can’t hear (always good things LOL). When I take her to the mall almost every single person stops to talk to us. She’s definitely a ray of sunshine and she has made my world so much brighter than I ever thought it could be.
There aren’t any words to describe how much I love this little person. Or how sad I am that she’s growing up so fast. I just wish I could stop time right now. Her cute pudgy hands, her determined crawl, the way she tries to walk on her tip toes when we hold her hands, and the way she still loves me unabashedly, her obsession with all things dogs. The way she says kitty (kiiiii). But since I can’t stop time I’m just going to try to live in the moment and kiss her chubby cheeks 154,984 times a day. And try not to think about the fact that someday she is going to be a teenager. Because that shit is scary.
Happy birthday Poops.
