This Starling Lane Winery wedding was absolutely one of my favourite weddings EVER! I’ve known Damon and Erin for some time which made the day even more special. I love not only having bonds with the people whose weddings I am photographing, but it’s a nice bonus when I know a lot of the guests and family members as well. It lets everyone feel more relaxed meaning I can get more genuine and candid moments throughout the day.
Damon and Erin met at work (everyone loves a good office romance story – HA!) and it’s been really fun watching their relationship grow. Their wedding day was such a meaningful reflection of the two of them. It was extremely elegant, tasteful and simple. The day started off with Erin getting ready at her parents place with her friends and family. Even though the wedding was only attended by family, it was such a fun way for Erin’s friends to be able to hang out with her on her wedding day and see her getting ready. Just another example of how you can truly do your wedding day you way by thinking a bit outside of the box. The ladies spent the morning sipping on champagne, eating the most delicious and beautiful charcuterie boards and having lots of laughs. Meanwhile, my amazing assistant was hanging out with Damon and family (plus a few close friends) at him and Erin’s house.
Once at the gorgeous Starling Lane, we captured the most beautiful first look moment between Erin and her Dad. Next up was the garden ceremony. Chris-Anne never disappoints with her wonderful energy at delivering heartfelt ceremonies and this was no exception. There were definitely a few tears and a lot of laughs. The Good Party hit this one out of the park with the set up of the lounges at Starling Lane and Twist of Fate crafted an incredible La Croix fountain since these two are big fans of the drink. After the cocktail hour and photos were finished, we headed to Erin and Damon’s backyard which had been completely transformed into the most beautiful garden oasis I’ver ever seen! Normally the most emotion filled photos are from a first look between people but the photos of Erin seeing her backyard for the first time say it all.
Farms Gate Foods and Catering provided delicious farm to table food and WOW. Not only was it delicious but every plate was a work of art. After dinner, the speeches had everyone in tears. It’s hard to have the words to describe how wonderful this day was so I hope the photos do it some justice.
Congrats Damon + Erin – wishing you a lifetime of happiness and all the La Croix your hearts desire !! xoxo
Kyla and Tom’s intimate backyard wedding this past Saturday was simply gorgeous. They tied the knot at Kyla’s parents stunning Saanich property, hilltop with the most beautiful view. The rain held off (mostly) and these two were able to say the most meaningful “I-Do’s” in front of their nearest and dearest. Their reception will follow…
Last year I reconnected with one of my cousins who I hadn’t seen for about 15 years as he had just moved to Victoria. It’s been great because all of us kids had such a blast together when we were younger and then we all kind of lost touch. Age and miles between you tends […]
This little foot was part of an adorable baby who had her first photo shoot yesterday. There was some serious cuteness going on. More pics to follow shortly!
Ms. L – what a beauty! We have worked together in the past and I love catching up with her and all of her business ventures when I see her each time. I’m always so honored when I have clients who are able and willing to let share their intimate boudoir photos with the world […]
