Ken & Jen – Married in Cancun!

So let me just start off by saying that sometimes I feel out of place in my own life. If someone told me 10 years ago that I would be paid to travel to exotic locations and take pictures of love,  I would tell them they were out of their minds. Yet here I am doing just that.  Somebody pinch me.

Last year I blogged about my first destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta (see it here). Jen and Ken were attending the wedding so we got to know each other a little bit. At the time, Jen had told me they were getting married in Victoria in the summer of 2013 and had already booked a wedding photographer.  So imagine my surprise when I heard from her months later!  Turns out they scrapped the Victoria wedding plan and decided to make it a destination wedding.  She was hoping I was available to travel with them to Cancun to be their photographer. You can guess my answer.

Which leads me to this blog post.  It was the rainy season in Cancun. And it rained. Every day that we were there.  The wedding was scheduled for 4pm and that is the time it usually started monsoon raining every day. Needless to say I was a little concerned about the weather, especially on the day of the wedding when we woke up to rain which didn’t stop for very long throughout the day.  By some miracle the clouds blew through and I couldn’t have asked for better weather! The sun shone on these two awesome people as they tied the knot on a gorgeous beach in Cancun, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was perfect in every way.

I can’t express how grateful I am to have been chosen to document another love story. These two are perfect for each other and I wish them nothing but the best together in this life. Here is a little of their day.
