ReStart Homework

I’m participating in the best thing to happen to photographers since digital – ReStart with Jasmine Star! It’s a three month comprehensive course for photographers looking to make over their business.  The first day of the course was a true eye opener and it really made me think about my branding.  We were told to come up with three words that we want our photos/brand to convey.  These words should also jive with your personality because your brand is not only your pictures, it’s you!! I had a bit of a tough time with mine but finally decided on EDGY, FUN and FRESH.  Going forward I am going to shoot with these words in mind and this blog is going to be my way of holding myself accountable to that! 

The second part of the course is airing on February 13th and is all about creating a branded web presence. Our homework assignment for this was to go on a photo safari and take photos of things you find visuallly appealing.  Here is mine:

I feel like if I had gotten my act together earlier I could have made a much bigger and better collage but this is a good start.  

I’m so grateful to have started on this journey of dissecting not only my business but myself as a photographer. It will be interesting to see what the next course reveals and I’m so so excited to share it with you all!
