Mel + Jen // Intimate Back Yard Victoria Wedding
I was looking forward to this wedding all summer long and it was everything I was thinking it would be and a hell of a lot more!! This day was a bit different for me because I agreed to meet these two lovely ladies quite early downtown on a Saturday morning so we could do their portraits yet avoid the crowds. Best decision I’ve made in a long time! The lighting was perfect and there was absolutely no one around! I loooove an urban vibe so getting to hit the streets with these two brides was definitely a highlight of the summer. Their personalities are so different yet they are the perfect match together. Jen who is quiet, sweet and reserved matched with Mel who is quick, outspoken and hilarious. After our session downtown we all took a break and met up again quite a few hours later at Jen’s grandma’s house for their intimate backyard wedding. It was the cutest damn setup I had ever seen! I loved the inclusive vibe of the long table where everyone could converse and get to know each other (it was the first time their families had met since Mel’s family is from the States and live quite far away). The ceremony was beautiful and intimate and you could tell there was so much love for these two to be starting the next chapter of their lives together. After the ceremony we decided to sneak out for a few more pictures which may have included trespassing on someone’s super cool driveway but hey you gotta do what you gotta do for the cool shots.
Jen & Mel – you are two gems. I’m so happy for you and thankful I got to play a very small role in your special day. All the best in the future and I can’t wait to see you two again soon!
