Mount Doug Engagement Session // Leah + Derrick

I’ve been sitting on this Mount Doug engagement session for months now waiting to share!   I went to blog their wedding and realized I should probably start with their engagement session.

It’s kind of a funny story about how I came to connect with these two.   Leah’s best friend had met me for a wedding consultation quite a few years back – I had just had my baby and was probably a hot sleepless mess. She didn’t book me but when Leah got engaged she told her that she thought we would be a great fit. Leah checked out my bio and emailed me telling me that the words I had written could have came straight from her mouth.  We met up, hit it off and have been discussing our love of Pinot Noir and 90’s hip hop ever since!   These two are one of those couples that you meet and instantly fall into friendship with. They are both relaxed, easy to talk to and are just salt of the earth type people. 

For their Victoria engagement session, we headed up to one of my favorite views and sunsets of the City – Mount Doug.  Leah & Derrick’s chemistry is off and the chart and even though they told me they were awkward they were anything but!   We got an epic sunset and had such a blast running around the mountaintop.  These photos are some of my favorite because of their connection – they can be funny and flirty but are also really easy to pull the more intimate connections out of. In my experience a lot of couples tend to lean more towards one or the other but these two are equal parts of both. I’m so happy to have met you guys and I CAN’T WAIT TO BLOG YOUR WEDDING!
