This Starling Lane Winery wedding was absolutely one of my favourite weddings EVER! I’ve known Damon and Erin for some time which made the day even more special. I love not only having bonds with the people whose weddings I am photographing, but it’s a nice bonus when I know a lot of the guests and family members as well. It lets everyone feel more relaxed meaning I can get more genuine and candid moments throughout the day.
Damon and Erin met at work (everyone loves a good office romance story – HA!) and it’s been really fun watching their relationship grow. Their wedding day was such a meaningful reflection of the two of them. It was extremely elegant, tasteful and simple. The day started off with Erin getting ready at her parents place with her friends and family. Even though the wedding was only attended by family, it was such a fun way for Erin’s friends to be able to hang out with her on her wedding day and see her getting ready. Just another example of how you can truly do your wedding day you way by thinking a bit outside of the box. The ladies spent the morning sipping on champagne, eating the most delicious and beautiful charcuterie boards and having lots of laughs. Meanwhile, my amazing assistant was hanging out with Damon and family (plus a few close friends) at him and Erin’s house.
Once at the gorgeous Starling Lane, we captured the most beautiful first look moment between Erin and her Dad. Next up was the garden ceremony. Chris-Anne never disappoints with her wonderful energy at delivering heartfelt ceremonies and this was no exception. There were definitely a few tears and a lot of laughs. The Good Party hit this one out of the park with the set up of the lounges at Starling Lane and Twist of Fate crafted an incredible La Croix fountain since these two are big fans of the drink. After the cocktail hour and photos were finished, we headed to Erin and Damon’s backyard which had been completely transformed into the most beautiful garden oasis I’ver ever seen! Normally the most emotion filled photos are from a first look between people but the photos of Erin seeing her backyard for the first time say it all.
Farms Gate Foods and Catering provided delicious farm to table food and WOW. Not only was it delicious but every plate was a work of art. After dinner, the speeches had everyone in tears. It’s hard to have the words to describe how wonderful this day was so I hope the photos do it some justice.
Congrats Damon + Erin – wishing you a lifetime of happiness and all the La Croix your hearts desire !! xoxo
How much fun and adventure can you pack into an hour? I think we definitely hit the max with these two. Our hour together was everything AND a bag of chips. It involved a dock, some boats, flying champagne corks, me clinging to my expensive camera gear while in a rocky kayak with a hole […]
Engagement sessions are one of the best parts of my job. Unlike a wedding there is no pressure, time crunch, or stress involved and it’s a great way to get to know your clients before their big day. Kerry and Craig are getting married at Church & State Winery in September and I am sooo […]
I couldn’t count the number of times that I have felt like a hot mess if I tried. Sometimes I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing with my life, I feel stuck, I’m not fashionable enough, I don’t have enough money, I’m getting wrinkles, I don’t work out enough, I don’t have enough […]
I’m obsessed with all things green. Particularly plants, leaves, trees, grass, that sort of thing. I feel that bright green colours represent life and vitality and something about that is extremely attractive to me. I really like the way this picture turned out and it’s completely my style – something I would hang in my […]
