This Starling Lane Winery wedding was absolutely one of my favourite weddings EVER! I’ve known Damon and Erin for some time which made the day even more special. I love not only having bonds with the people whose weddings I am photographing, but it’s a nice bonus when I know a lot of the guests and family members as well. It lets everyone feel more relaxed meaning I can get more genuine and candid moments throughout the day.
Damon and Erin met at work (everyone loves a good office romance story – HA!) and it’s been really fun watching their relationship grow. Their wedding day was such a meaningful reflection of the two of them. It was extremely elegant, tasteful and simple. The day started off with Erin getting ready at her parents place with her friends and family. Even though the wedding was only attended by family, it was such a fun way for Erin’s friends to be able to hang out with her on her wedding day and see her getting ready. Just another example of how you can truly do your wedding day you way by thinking a bit outside of the box. The ladies spent the morning sipping on champagne, eating the most delicious and beautiful charcuterie boards and having lots of laughs. Meanwhile, my amazing assistant was hanging out with Damon and family (plus a few close friends) at him and Erin’s house.
Once at the gorgeous Starling Lane, we captured the most beautiful first look moment between Erin and her Dad. Next up was the garden ceremony. Chris-Anne never disappoints with her wonderful energy at delivering heartfelt ceremonies and this was no exception. There were definitely a few tears and a lot of laughs. The Good Party hit this one out of the park with the set up of the lounges at Starling Lane and Twist of Fate crafted an incredible La Croix fountain since these two are big fans of the drink. After the cocktail hour and photos were finished, we headed to Erin and Damon’s backyard which had been completely transformed into the most beautiful garden oasis I’ver ever seen! Normally the most emotion filled photos are from a first look between people but the photos of Erin seeing her backyard for the first time say it all.
Farms Gate Foods and Catering provided delicious farm to table food and WOW. Not only was it delicious but every plate was a work of art. After dinner, the speeches had everyone in tears. It’s hard to have the words to describe how wonderful this day was so I hope the photos do it some justice.
Congrats Damon + Erin – wishing you a lifetime of happiness and all the La Croix your hearts desire !! xoxo
Picture this: a beautiful garden villa, an amazingly sunny gorgeous day with not a cloud in the sky, a fun loving and easy going group of people and two people crazy in love. That pretty much sums up Jon & Susannah’s wedding day. I loved their concept – a daytime garden wedding followed by a […]
I’m baaaack!! This mom + me mini session was my first shoot back after taking a hiatus for pregnancy and baby since about October. Man does it feel good to be out there shooting again! I definitely have missed it. And I couldn’t have asked for a better pair to photograph. Now that I […]
This statue is super creepy to me. There was bird droppings running down it’s face and it almost looks like tears but he’s smiling a sinister smile. Spoooky!
I had the pleasure of photographing Jan & Leigh’s wedding on Good Friday last week. They were such a sweet couple and I was happy to a part of their intimate ceremony. Here is a sneak peek of one of my favorite shots. Much more to follow very shortly….
A girlfriend of mine was celebrating a milestone birthday last week and a group of us girls decided to do something really special and hire The London Chef to come and cook a dinner for us. Here’s how it works: after developing the menu to suit your tastes, the Chef comes to your house with […]
